Strengthen universities together with partners from the region as active designers of transformative processes
How and what contribution can universities make together with external partners to the future viability of their region and - faced with the great expectations from business and politics - what are the limits of their commitment?
What strategies, structures and competencies do universities and their partners need in order to successfully shape transformation processes together? And how can these be specifically developed and passed on?
How must – against the background of transformation – universities as institutions change and what are the effective levers for this?
These are questions that the funding line of the Stifterverband "Transformationslabor Hochschule" addresses.
As part of this funding, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is addressing the challenge of how to advance the heat transition in Darmstadt. It draws on preliminary work from the project “Interactive agent-based heating networks”: Goal is to develop a systemic understanding of the problem situation in tandem between the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and the municipal holding company HEAG with the relevant actors from Darmstadt and to build a joint solution development process.
»The Darmstadt heat transition project shows the high relevance that universities attach to their role as actors in regional transformation processes. Through the combination of competence building and accompanying vision and strategy definition at university management level, the donor association wants to support the cooperation associations in raising their profile as transformation laboratories in their region."
