The Citizen Panel

Changes towards sustainable development are only successful if private individuals also make active contributions. In order to involve such individuals, a Citizens` Panel was established at itp:ne from 2018 to 2025. In close cooperation with the project teams, the citizen panel team developed surveys to examine the problem, the factors influencing behavior in the status quo and the possible solutions. The findings were incorporated into the work of the projects.

Aim: To obtain meaningful results for the innovation process using a sample that is as representative as possible.

This is how the Citizen Panel worked
Almost 2,000 people from Darmstadt and the surrounding area were taking part in the Citizen Panel. This was the fixed group (“panel”) for the surveys. The Citizen Panel regularly invited its participants to the surveys. In this way, it successfully contributed to interdisciplinary analysis and transdisciplinary solution development.
